You already heard about WI-FI,3G,GPRS as they are efficient and responsible technology for accessing the internet either in mobile or in a computer,but future is ready to welcome WiMAX technology which is ready to make all this technology obsolete.

When we are getting use to Wi-Fi at home or in office,there is a new tech emerging which takes complete care of our internet needs.3G may be making a lot of sound in the mobile market,but it will become outdated once WI-MAX is implemented.

What is Wi-Max?
Just think of it as Wi-Fi wireless technology over a much much bigger area.Wi-Fi routers have a typical working adius of around 150ft,whereas Wi-Max will have a working range of 7-10 Km.
Wi-MAX is wireless,broadband access to the Internet and will be soon available in major cities,towns and villages. Wi-Max can provide higher and better speeds at the same cost of a current home broadband connection.Morever,where you travel across the country ,you can access the netif there is Wi-Max coverage-which is not difficult to think of since the current cellphone companies will be the service providers.
Unlike 3G and GPRS,Wi-Max will deliever speeds of upto 5MBPS to the mobile phone or Wi-Max devices.A single Wi-Max node or tower will serve thousand of subscribers.

*Using more advance technology than Wi-Fi,Wi-Max will also be much more secure since it uses advance key and privacy management.Only authenticated devices will be able to connect to the network,which will be password protected.

* Future laptops,mobile phones,cameras and even hand-held gaming consoles will be Wi-Max enabled.This wireless technology will give a new face to the internet around the globe.

Reception of the network will be batter for users who are closer to the single tower/base. Then again service providers will be using same GSM towers that provide cell phone service,so Net error or slow speed should not be much of a problem.
